The Edo State Government has announced the establishment of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission to oversee all lottery, gaming, and related activities in the state.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, the Commission will serve as the central regulatory body with the mandate to provide a legal and institutional framework for lottery operations, ensure transparency and accountability, safeguard the interests of participants, and generate revenue for the state through structured licensing and regulation.
Governor Monday Okpebholo has also approved the appointment of pioneer members of the Commission as follows:

The names of the nominees are to be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
The government noted that the initiative underscores its commitment to building a well-regulated gaming industry that protects consumers, boosts investor confidence, and contributes to the socio-economic development of the state.
