Nigeria @ 66: Edo Deputy Governor Urges Patriotism, Unity
The Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has urged Nigerians to renew their faith in the country and remain committed to building a stronger, united and prosperous nation as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Dennis Idahosa made the call in a press statement to commemorate the October 1 anniversary. He described the occasion as a reminder of the courage and sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers, noting that Nigeria had demonstrated remarkable resilience despite its challenges, with its greatest strength lying in its people and diversity.
The Deputy Governor commended President Bola Tinubu for efforts to reposition the economy and strengthen the foundation for sustainable development, while reaffirming the commitment of the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration to improving lives in Edo State through investments in security, infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture and human capital development.
He further urged Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, peace, justice and responsible citizenship, stressing that nation-building required collective sacrifice and commitment. He congratulated Nigerians on the anniversary and prayed for sustained peace, unity, prosperity and progress across the federation.
