This is Mutairu Dauda, a furniture maker, currently at irruah specialist hospital,after the Sunday night invasion, struggling for life. He narrowly escaped with machete cuts all over his body as well as a bullet wound.
His wife and and other members of his family were not spared in the attack as they were all outside the house after breaking of the day’s Ramadan fast when the unexpected visitors showed up.
Narrating their ordeal, residents in the area said the invasion was carried out in a commando-style.They also disclosed that some residents have been forced to abandon their homes after series of similar attacks by the invaders over time, stating that they no longer sleep with their two eyes closed as a result of the insecurity pervading the locality
Some vigilante group operatives in the local government area in the early hours of Monday, who went after the invaders to rescue those who were abducted apprehended one suspect in the forest, who, during interrogation, claimed to be a herdsman.
The suspect has however been handed over to the police for further actions.
