Governor Okpebholo Prioritizes Welfare and Health of Edo People

Governor Monday Okpebholo has continued to demonstrate that the welfare and health needs of Edo people remain his top priority.

This commitment was evident when the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, Precious Ogboru, and the Executive Assistant to the Governor, James Iorkusah, visited the family of a woman and her newborn baby who had been detained at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). Their visit underscored the urgent need for intervention in the case, ensuring that the family received the necessary assistance.

The UBTH Public Relations Officer, Joshua Uwaila, provided the hospital management’s perspective on the issue, acknowledging and appreciating Governor Okpebholo’s timely intervention. His swift action not only alleviated the family’s distress but also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to addressing pressing health concerns in the state.

The beneficiaries, Mercy Bassy and her spouse, Innocent Akpan, expressed their profound gratitude for the governor’s financial support, offering prayers for his continued success in governance.

Governor Okpebholo’s intervention aligns with his SHINE transformational agenda, a project aimed at improving social welfare, healthcare, and overall development in Edo State. This initiative has been widely praised by various stakeholders, further solidifying his reputation as a leader committed to the well-being of the people.
