The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a newly redesigned version of its prestigious trophy, signaling a fresh chapter in the evolution of the continent’s football landscape.
The updated trophy, which was revealed in a brief ceremony ahead of upcoming CAF tournaments, features a more modern and refined design, blending traditional African elements with contemporary aesthetics. CAF says the new look reflects the growing global appeal and prestige of African football.
CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, described the redesign as part of the organization’s broader efforts to elevate the image and standard of football across the continent.
“This new trophy symbolizes the pride, heritage, and progress of African football. As we continue to attract global attention, it is important that our symbols of victory also reflect the excellence we strive for,” Motsepe said.
The new trophy will be awarded for the first time in upcoming CAF competitions, further embedding it as a key symbol of achievement in African sports.
CAF is expected to release more details on the competitions where the trophy will debut and its significance in promoting African identity through sport.
