Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the Federal Government and extended warm congratulations to all Muslim faithful in Nigeria and the diaspora.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the spirit of sacrifice, faith, and obedience as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He also called on citizens to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the country.
The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to implementing people-centered reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at putting Nigeria back on the path of growth and development.
He encouraged all Nigerians to support the government’s efforts to restore the nation’s glory and uphold the values that strengthen national unity.
The Minister concluded by wishing the Muslim community a joyful and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
