Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe has congratulated the state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo on the successful restoration of Edo Broadcasting Service terrestrial on UHF channel 45 and the reopening of the Ihievbe broadcast station.
The chairman in a statement on Sunday, said the development marks a significant return to the airwaves after a decade of absence, reestablishing a vital connection with the people of Edo North and Nigeria as a whole.
Alenkhe noted that the milestone is a testament to Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to revitalizing the media industry in Edo State.
He added, “The Governor ‘s leadership and vision have made a significant impact, and we are grateful for his efforts.”
The chairman also commended the Managing Director of Edo Broadcasting Service, Sulaiman Aledeh for his dedication to ensuring the transformation and success of EBS, noting that his hard work and expertise have been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
He further appreciated Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to the growth and development of the media industry in Edo State, as evident in his decision to absorb the new EBS staff.
Alenkhe described the move as a demonstration of the Governor’s dedication to empowering journalists and promoting quality journalism in Edo state.
