The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has congratulated Nigerians on the nation’s 65th independence anniversary, urging citizens to see the celebration as both a symbol of freedom and a call to duty.
In his independence message Signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor described October 1 as a reminder of the courage, sacrifices, and vision of Nigeria’s founding fathers who laid the foundation for a united and prosperous nation.
Idahosa noted that despite the challenges the country has faced over the decades, Nigerians have continued to show resilience, creativity, determination and unity in diversity.
He commended Edo people for their steadfast support for Governor Monday Okpebholo’s vision of inclusive growth and pledged the administration’s continued commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens through people-centered policies and programmes.
While praying for God’s blessings for the country, he urged Nigerians to reflect on the journey so far and renew their dedication to patriotism, integrity, and service to humanity.
