GOV. OKPEBHOLO PRESENTS 3,000 BAGS OF RICE TO COMMUNAL CRISIS COMMUNITIES IN OVIA SOUTH WEST
Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo has presented three thousand bags of
rice to residents of Gbalebu and Madoti communities of Ovia South-West Local Government Area of the state.
The governor’s initiative was hailed as a good strategy to bring lasting peace to the two agrarian communities.
Governor Monday Okpebholo during his visit to the affected communities in March had pledged to bring to justice, those responsible for the February 21st attacks on Madoti and Gbalebu communities in Ovia South West Local Government Area, which resulted in the tragic loss of 22 lives and significant damage to properties
True to his words of restoring peace , a joint patrol of the various security formations have been created in the area which has led to the restoration of peace and security.
Now, Madoti and Gbalebu communities are receiving thousands of 10kg bags of rice as part of several other actions to restore both communities to normalcy.
The Executive secretary of the Edo state Emergency Management Agency EDOSEMA, Jerry Idahosa made the presentation on behalf of the state government
The Amanowei of Gbalebu community, Enoch Soluboh while thanking Governor Okpebholo for his kind gesture says with this move, peace has been restored as the people have now embraced peace
On his part,the Gbale of Madoti, Igbale Obazuaye and other residents say the Governor has fulfilled all that he promised when he met them during his March visit
Madoti and Gbalebu communities are agriarian localities in ovia south west council area of the state.
