The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu, has said that Governor Monday Okpebholo is committed to spreading development evenly across the three senatorial districts of the state.
Speaking in Benin City, Hon. Ohonbamu noted that Governor Okpebholo, who chairs the State Executive Council, is deeply concerned about ensuring that all parts of Edo State receive adequate developmental attention.
According to the Commissioner, the Governor has assured that every decision taken by his administration is aimed at improving the well-being of citizens across the state.
“The government is ready and will continue to do all that is necessary to develop all areas that require attention,” he said.
He added that the Governor’s ultimate desire is to transform Edo State into what he described as a “portable paradise.”
Hon. Ohonbamu highlighted that the Okpebholo-led administration has approved the construction of roads and the renovation and remodeling of schools across the state—many of which were previously abandoned by past administrations.
“With these interventions, it is obvious that Edo State now has an action Governor who is working for the people,” he added.
The Commissioner disclosed that approvals and mobilization have been given for the construction of internal roads at Ogheghe Community and the Old Sapele Road, as well as Iyioha and Isiweme Streets in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, and three spurs at Aho-Irrua in Esan Central.
Other projects include:

Construction of Uhie Road, off Sapele Road;

Oghenesi Oza Road with spurs to Uhi Community in Uhunmwonde LGA;

Amosi Okpaga Road with spurs to Agbonze Street, Daddy J. Road, and Michael Aigbedion Street in both Uhunmwonde and Ikpoba-Okha LGAs — totaling 8.3 kilometers.
On education, the Commissioner listed several secondary schools currently undergoing renovation and remodeling, including:

Hon. Ohonbamu assured that contractors have already been mobilized and work is underway, stressing that Senator Okpebholo is a listening Governor who genuinely desires to make life meaningful for the people of Edo State.
