Abuja, May 24, 2025 – The Federal Ministry of Education has expressed strong disapproval over the poor conditions under which an examination was conducted at Unity Secondary School, Asaba, following a viral video circulating on social media.
The video, which allegedly shows students writing exams in an unconducive environment, has drawn criticism and concern from the public. The Ministry, under the leadership of Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, described the incident as “totally unacceptable” and has pledged to take decisive action to prevent a recurrence.
In response, the Ministry is collaborating with the Delta State Government and the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to investigate the incident. The findings of the investigation will be made public once concluded, officials said.
Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to providing a conducive learning and examination environment. She emphasized that efforts are ongoing to enhance infrastructure and uphold educational standards nationwide in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
