Following the Edo Governorship Election Petition Tribunal’s affirmation of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s victory at the September 21, 2024 governorship election, some respondents have outlined areas in need of urgent government intervention for the Governor to focus on.
They spoke with EBS Clement Oserah in Benin City, saying the victory is an opportunity for the Governor who has been hailed as the working Governor to look towards other areas of need especially food production , food price stability and security
Helen David appealed to the Governor to ensure a clean and safe Edo while Charles Oduware called for more youth engagement and empowerment to reduce unemployment and curb crime rate in the state
Democracy promotes the rights of the electorates to make their expectations known to elected officials, hence the hope of respondents and Edo people that the administration of Monday Okpebholo will meet their expectations.
