The South South Zonal Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, barring him from commenting on matters concerning the South South zone and its constituent states.
The committee, led by Chief Dan Osi Orbih, expressed strong disapproval over recent remarks made by Ologunagba, particularly his criticism of Governors Pastor Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom) and Elder Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta) for publicly declaring their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Describing Ologunagba’s statement as “reckless” and “unsolicited,” the zonal leadership, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Prince Etim Isong, cautioned him against making further comments that could destabilize the party in the region.
The committee accused Ologunagba of consistently blurring the line between personal opinion and official party communication, stating that such conduct renders him unfit for the role of National Publicity Secretary. “The South South PDP is tired of the constant embarrassment caused by Mr. Ologunagba’s unprofessional behavior,” the statement read.
The zonal leadership further warned that continued interference by Ologunagba would attract “severe consequences.” They also cited his alleged role in exacerbating internal crises within the party, including setbacks in Ondo State and tensions with the PDP Governors’ Forum over the recent Supreme Court pronouncement concerning the office of the National Secretary.
Reaffirming its stance, the South South Zonal Working Committee declared that any further acts of disrespect toward its leaders would not be tolerated. It concluded by reiterating that Ologunagba is unfit to represent or speak on behalf of the PDP on issues affecting the South
South region.
