Ogheghe Community Lauds Gov Okpebholo’s Commitment to Infrastructure Development
Residents, traders and pedestrians in Ogheghe community, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, have commended Governor Monday Okpebholo over the ongoing massive road construction project in the area, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that is already transforming lives and businesses.
The residents, who spoke with journalists during a visit by the governor to the community, expressed joy over the pace and quality of work being carried out on the road, noting that the project has brought renewed hope to people who have endured years of hardship caused by the deplorable state of the road.
Governor Okpebholo was in the community for an unscheduled visit to ascertain the extent of work done in the area.
According to them, the once dusty and waterlogged road had become a nightmare for motorists, traders, and school children, especially during the rainy season when movement within the community was often difficult.
A trader in the area, Victor Merit, said the road construction has started attracting more customers to the market as people can now access the community with ease.
“We have suffered on this road for many years. During rainfall, the road became almost impassable and customers avoided this area. But now, we are happy seeing the government working here. Governor Okpebholo has remembered us,”.
Another resident, Mr. Monday Orugbe, described Governor Monday Okpebholo as a blessing to Edo State, noting that the road was previously in a terrible condition before the ongoing construction work began.
“Governor Monday Okpebholo is truly a blessing to Edo State. Before now, this road was a complete disaster, and people suffered a lot passing through here. But with the ongoing construction, we are happy and grateful for what the governor is doing for this community,”.
Pedestrians and school children were also not left out in the commendations, as many described the project as a major relief that would improve safety and reduce accidents in the area.
They praised the governor for what they described as his commitment to infrastructural development across Edo State, adding that the road project reflects the administration’s resolve to improve the living conditions of the people.
The ongoing construction is part of the Edo State Government’s efforts to rehabilitate critical roads and enhance socio-economic activities across communities in the state.
