Tinubu Reaffirms Commitment To Youth Empowerment
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed the commitment of the federal government to prioritise the development of the digital economy to enhance youth empowerment and job creation.
The President said this when he played host to participants of the Senior Executive Course 46, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies Kuru.
During the visit, President Tinubu received the report on Digital Economy, Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Job Creation in Nigeria: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities.
The 96 participants while urging that the President issue an Executive Order mandating all ministries, departments, and agencies to migrate to the OneGov.ng, tendered an eight-point recommendation, asking the federal government to expedite the enactment of the Digital Economy and e-Governance Bill 2024 and to encourage states to waive the Right of Way fees on deployment of telecoms infrastructure.
Responding, President Tinubu directed the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Bosun Tijani, to coordinate with the group and present their recommendations to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Head of the Civil Service for streamlined implementation.
The Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Prof. Ayo Omotayo, said that in exploring the theme of their study, participants undertook study tours across Nigeria and abroad.
Established in 1979, the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies is a policy formation centre for bureaucrats, private sector leaders, military officers, and medium- and senior-ranking civil servants.
