El-Rufai’s Son, Defects From APC To ADC

 

A member representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, Muhammad El-Rufai, the son of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

 

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, announced the defection during plenary in the House of Representatives

on Tuesday.

 

According to the Speaker, Muhammed El-Rufai joined the ADC alongside two members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Kaduna State, Umar Ajilo and Suleiman Richifa.

 

The speaker also announced that Kamilu Ado, a lawmaker from Kano State, defected from the ADC to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), while Joshua Chinedu, representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory, moved from the APC to the NDC.

 

The lawmakers cited internal crises and uncertainty within their former parties as reasons for their defections.
