The Edo State House of Assembly recently passed the Kidnapping Prohibition Law 2025, strengthening existing anti-kidnapping laws and mandating property confiscation and demolition. Governor Okpebholo’s administration has been enforcing this law, demolishing homes used as hideouts for kidnappers.
Residents in Benin City, the state capital have praised the governor’s practical leadership and governance, citing improved security and infrastructural development.
Charles Idahosa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo State, also commended Governor Okpebholo’s efforts.
While acknowledging the progress made, residents are calling for more security initiatives, urging the Governor Okpebholo’s administration to sustain its efforts, prioritizing the safety and well-being of Edo residents.
