Benin City | August 1, 2025 — The Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four individuals as Commissioner Designates in the state executive council.
The nominations were made public on Friday through a statement signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government. The nominees are:

According to the statement, their names have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in accordance with constitutional provisions.
Profile of Nominees
Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams
A seasoned lawyer and political activist, Adams holds qualifications in Law and Human Resource Management. He has held several leadership roles, including Chairman of Egor Local Government Council, Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor, and General Manager of Edo State Rubber Estates. He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and currently leads his legal firm, Nosa Adams & Co.
Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP
Musa is a politician, philanthropist, Rotarian, and agricultural scientist with degrees in Agriculture and Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and previously served as Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area. A Peace Ambassador recognized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates, Musa is also active in the Rotary Club of Auchi Metro.
Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue
A chartered accountant and former President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Dr. Akhabue previously served as Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area. His leadership experience extends internationally, having served as Vice President of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and as a Board Member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).
Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa
An expert in Industrial and Production Engineering, Prof. Ikponmwosa holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical/Production Engineering, an M.Eng. in Manufacturing Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Automation and Control. He is a registered engineer and member of COREN, the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).
The statement noted that these appointments reflect Governor Okpebholo’s commitment to inclusive governance and strengthening the administrative capacity of the state.
