Benin City, August 21, 2025 – The Edo State Government has announced the approval of five individuals as Commissioner-Designates by His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State.
The announcement was contained in a special statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on Thursday in Benin City.
The nominees are:

Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN
According to the statement, the nominees bring a wealth of experience from law, politics, academia, and administration, having previously served in various capacities within Edo State and beyond.

Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae is a distinguished legal practitioner and former Chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.

Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwii, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly, is an administrator with international training in project monitoring and governance.

Hon. Saturday Uwuilokhue Idehen (JP) is a politician and former State Commissioner as well as ex-Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government.

Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo holds degrees in Political Science, Public Administration, and Business Administration, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.

Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is a legal scholar with multiple academic qualifications and professional honors, including membership of the Body of Benchers.
The statement further noted that the nominations will be transmitted to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.
With these appointments, Governor Okpebholo is expected to further strengthen his administration’s capacity to deliver on governance, reforms, and development across the state.
