BAD ROADS: COMMUNITY LEADER RESORTS TO SELF-HELP TO SALVAGE COLLAPSED ROAD.

According to residents in the area, for years, government presence, at all levels has never been felt, particularly in the area of provision of good and accessible roads, hence the decision to resort to self-help to maintain the streets and roads, to enable them assess their various homes, especially as the rainy season is around the corner.
Calling on government at various levels, One of the community leaders often referred to as ‘Okaedun’, Stephen Osarunmweda, the brain behind the self-help project said the ongoing work is a temporary measure deployed to salvage the devastating situation of emerging gullies, while they expect government to come to their aid
Recounting their experiences, some business owners and tricycle operators who ply the route said the state of the roads is affecting their businesses, adding that they pay different taxes and levies on daily basis, yet no dividends of democracy.
They want a permanent solution to curb the difficulties currently being experienced by residents of Obazee Street, off Ohovbe road axis of the Edo State capital especially as it connects other communities like Aduwawa in Ikpoba- Okha local government area of the state.
