*BIRTHDAY FELICITATION TO HIS EXCELLENCY, SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLO, GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE*
OKPEBHOLO AT 56: APC EDO CELEBRATES A LEADER OF PURPOSE, VISION AND DEVELOPMENT
The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) heartily felicitates the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on the occasion of his birthday.
On behalf of the leadership, members and teeming supporters of our great party across the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State, we celebrate a leader whose commitment to the transformation of Edo State continues to manifest in tangible projects, policies and initiatives touching the lives of our people.
Since assuming office, Governor Okpebholo has demonstrated that leadership is not merely about occupying an office, but about responding decisively to the needs and aspirations of the people. Through the administration’s SHINE Agenda, the Governor has continued to pursue an inclusive development programme anchored on Security, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Agriculture, and Education.
The administration’s strong focus on infrastructure is particularly noteworthy. Across the three senatorial districts, road construction, rehabilitation and drainage projects are opening up communities, improving connectivity and creating opportunities for economic activities. Major projects around Sapele Road, Adesuwa Junction and several other corridors underscore the administration’s determination to address the state’s infrastructure deficit.
In the area of security, the administration has strengthened collaboration with security agencies and intensified efforts against kidnapping, cultism and other forms of criminality, recognising that development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity. The Governor has consistently maintained that the protection of lives and property remains fundamental to the prosperity of Edo State.
His administration has also demonstrated a strong commitment to education and human capital development. From investments in technical and vocational education to support for students and educational institutions, the government is laying the foundation for a more skilled, productive and competitive generation of Edo youths. The development of infrastructure at Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, alongside support for lecturers and students, reflects this commitment.
In healthcare, the administration has continued to pursue interventions aimed at improving access to quality healthcare, with the Health component of the SHINE Agenda receiving sustained attention, including maternal, newborn and child health initiatives and disease prevention programmes.
We also commend the Governor’s efforts towards responsible financial management and economic development. His administration’s emphasis on fiscal discipline, improved revenue administration and value-for-money spending reflects a commitment to building an Edo State that can sustainably finance its development aspirations.
Most recently, the administration’s efforts to address the state’s electricity challenges have taken another significant step with the licensing of a 200MW Independent Power Plant for Edo North, with the state government securing equity in the project. This is a strategic investment with the potential to strengthen power supply, stimulate businesses and create jobs across the senatorial district.
As a party, we are proud of the Governor’s determination, accessibility and hands on approach to governance. His frequent inspection of projects and insistence on quality and timely delivery demonstrate a leadership style focused on accountability and results.
On this auspicious occasion, the APC Edo State Chapter wishes Your Excellency many more years of sound health, wisdom, strength and divine guidance as you continue to serve the people of Edo State.
May God continue to bless you, your family and the great people of Edo State.
Happy Birthday, Your Excellency.
Long live Governor Monday Okpebholo!
Long live the All Progressives Congress!
Long live Edo State!
