G-60 Lawmakers Deny Forgery Claims In Ugochinyere’s Minority Leader Nomination-Release Video Evidence

G-60 Lawmakers Deny Forgery Claims In Ugochinyere’s Minority Leader Nomination-Release Video Evidence

The G-60 Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives has dismissed allegations of forgery in the nomination of Ikenga Ugochinyere for the position of Minority Leader, insisting that all signatures on the endorsement document were voluntarily appended by lawmakers.

In a statement signed by Mukhtar Umar and Seyi Sowunmi, the caucus said 61 of the 81 minority lawmakers endorsed Ugochinyere’s nomination following the exit of former Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda, who defected to the APC and later emerged as the party’s governorship candidate in Rivers State.

The group specifically rejected claims made during plenary by Deputy House Spokesperson, Philip Agbese, that his signature was forged on the nomination list.

The caucus, released a CCTV video evidence showing Agbese personally signing the endorsement document. The lawmakers noted that the footage was meant to counter what they described as “false and misleading” allegations.

The G-60 Minority caucus members maintained that the nomination process was transparent and democratic, urging the public and media to disregard claims of forgery and rely on verifiable facts.

The group also reaffirmed commitment to due process, unity, and the collective interests of opposition lawmakers in the House.
