Edo Governor Removes EDOGIS Managing Director, Orders Senior Officer to Take Over

Benin City, November 26, 2025 — The Edo State Government has announced the immediate removal of the Managing Director of the Edo Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS), Mr. Tony Ikpasaja, from office.

According to a government statement issued on Wednesday, Governor Monday Okpebholo approved the decision as part of ongoing efforts to restructure and reposition EDOGIS for greater efficiency, improved service delivery, and enhanced institutional performance.

The government further directed the most senior officer in the agency to assume leadership in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive Managing Director.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.
