Edo Govt Confirms November Sanitation Exercise, Lifts Movement Restrictions

Benin City, November 25, 2025 — The Edo State Government has announced that the monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise will hold across the State on Saturday, November 29, 2025, but with no restriction of movement.

The government said the decision was taken to allow free and unhindered movement for guests and stakeholders attending the 51st Convocation and 55th Founder’s Day Ceremonies of the University of Benin, whose grand finale is scheduled for the same day.

Despite lifting the usual movement restrictions, the government urged residents to participate actively in the exercise to enhance environmental cleanliness and promote public health across the State.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.
