Tragedy Strikes as Ogun Journalist Bukola Agbakaizu Dies While Working

ABEOKUTA – The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ogun State chapter, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden death of veteran journalist, Mrs. Bukola Agbakaizu, describing her passing as a great loss to the media community.

 

Chairperson of Ogun NAWOJ, Wasilat Salam, in a condolence message, said the news of Mrs. Agbakaizu’s death came as a rude shock, especially at a time when her experience and exemplary leadership were most needed by the association.

 

“Her death came when her experience and exemplary leadership would be needed by the association,” Salam said.

 

She described the late journalist as a woman of passion, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the profession.

 

“As a dedicated member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, and NAWOJ, Ogun chapter, the mother of two will be sorely missed by all,” she stated.

 

“Her compassion towards others, dedication, love, and passion for the pen profession will always be remembered and cherished.”

 

The statement concluded with heartfelt prayers for the repose of her soul and divine comfort for the bereaved family.

 

“Though she passed on at the age of 52, her dedication to God and service to humanity will continue to keep her in our memories for a long time to come.

We pray that her soul finds peace in the Lord, while the family she left behind will continue to be under the protection of God Almighty. Rest on, the amazon of our profession.”

Mrs. Agbakaizu’s unexpected death has cast a pall over the media landscape in Ogun State, leaving colleagues and friends mourning the loss of a seasoned journalist
