Abuja, May 10 – The House of Representatives will on Monday, May 12, 2025, unveil its mid-term scorecard at the maiden edition of the National Policy Dialogue in Abuja.
The event, organized in partnership with the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC), will feature a presentation by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, who is expected to highlight the legislative chamber’s achievements across eight strategic priority areas.
According to a statement from the organizers, the mid-term report will cover key legislative strides in areas such as strengthening good governance, improving national security, and advancing law reforms. Other focus areas include driving economic growth and development, enhancing the social sector, promoting inclusion and open parliament, shaping Nigeria’s foreign policy, and addressing climate change and environmental sustainability.
The National Policy Dialogue is designed to bring together critical stakeholders to engage in robust discussions on pressing national issues and legislative priorities. Organizers say the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to deepen democratic accountability and foster inclusive policymaking.
The event is expected to attract lawmakers, policy experts, civil society actors, and members of the diplomatic community.
